MOSCOW, Oct 15 (PRIME) -- More than 1 billion sets of the Sputnik V and Sputnik Lite vaccines will be produced in 2022, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev said in an interview with the Fortune magazine released on Friday.
“Next year, we expect to produce jabs for about 1 billion people,” Dmitriev said.
Russia produces 40 million sets of the Sputnik jabs per month. About 700 million sets of the two jabs will be produced by the end of 2021, he said, adding that starting in October, the production of Sputnik abroad will exceed the output of local facilities.
Sputnik has been certified by 70 countries with a total population of 4 billion people.
